Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 10:01 PM EDT Jun. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch in effect until 6 am EDT Friday...

The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a

* Flood Watch for a portion of Southeast Michigan, including the
following areas, Bay, Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Midland, Saginaw,
Sanilac, Shiawassee, and Tuscola.

* Until 6 am EDT Friday

* thunderstorm activity is expected to become increasingly
organized along and ahead of a slowly approaching cold front
between 10 PM and 6 am EDT. The thunderstorm activity may train
over the same areas.

* Rainfall rates in excess of 1 inch per hour will be likely within
thunderstorm activity. Rapid rainfall may cause flooding issues
across the area with low lying areas, and river and stream basins
most susceptible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood
warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
