Issued: 3:30 PM MST Jan. 17, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from 5 am Wednesday to
11 am MST Thursday...

* snow amounts... highly variable. 1 to 3 inches in Ada County
before mixing with or changing to freezing rain and/or rain.
Elmore County will see 3 to 7 inches... also possibly mixed with
freezing rain and/or rain at times.

* Snow levels... valley floors... rising to 3500 feet msl Wednesday
night.

* Winds... southeast 5 to 15 mph.

* Timing... snow will begin late tonight and continue through
Thursday morning. Snow will mix with freezing rain and/or rain
at times Wednesday night and Thursday.

* Impacts... travel hazard due to snow and then significant slush.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
