... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from 6 PM this evening
to 6 PM MST Monday...

* impacts... difficult travel from snow covered and icy roads
developing this evening and continuing through the day Monday.

* Timing... moderate snowfall developing in The Sawtooth and Wood
River region this evening and tapering off Monday morning.
Across the upper Snake River Highlands, moderate snowfall
developing closer to midnight and continuing through noon Monday
before tapering off.

* Snow accumulations... storm total accumulation of 5 to 10 inches
above 6000 feet with 2 to 5 inches in the lower valleys.

* Confidence... moderate confidence on timing and snow amounts.
Moderate to high confidence on impacts.

* Locations... Galena Summit, Ashton hill, Stanley, Clayton,
Ashton, Island Park, Driggs, Victor, and Ketchum.

Issued: 11:15 AM MST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
rain and snowmelt in...
southeastern Blaine County in central Idaho...
Lincoln County in south central Idaho...
Minidoka County in south central Idaho...

* until 1115 am MST Monday

* emergency management officials continue to report flooding in
central and southern Minidoka County, extreme southern Blaine
County, and nearly all of Lincoln County. More snow is expected,
and temperatures will remain below freezing through at least
Sunday, but flooding conditions will continue to persist for
several more days.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Burley, Rupert, Heyburn, Shoshone, Paul, Richfield, Minidoka,
Dietrich, Acequia, Shoshone ice caves, Bear Trap Airport, Kimama
and Laidlaw Corrals Airport.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
