... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to
10 am EST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 4 PM this
afternoon to 10 am EST Tuesday. The Winter Storm Watch is no
longer in effect.

* Locations... Wayne County.

* Timing... rain will change to snow late this afternoon and
continue through late Tuesday morning... with the heaviest snow
falling overnight into early Tuesday morning.

* Hazards... heavy wet snow.

* Accumulations... 3 to 7 inches tonight and around an inch
Tuesday... leading to storm totals of 4 to 8 inches.

* Snowfall rates... a half inch to an inch per hour during the
heaviest snow this evening and overnight.

* Winds... northeast 10 to 20 mph.

* Visibilities... as low as a quarter mile at times.

* Temperatures... around 40 this afternoon. Lows in the lower 30s
tonight. In the lower 30s Tuesday.

* Impacts... heavy wet snow will result in difficult travel
conditions. With the heaviest snow falling overnight... this
will make for a difficult Tuesday morning commute.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning is issued when severe winter weather is
expected. Heavy snow and/or ice will cause hazardous driving
conditions. If you will be traveling in the warning area you
should choose an alternate Route if possible, or you should use
extreme caution if travel is unavoidable.

* Waves... 3 to 6 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 18 to 33 knots
and/or waves averaging 4 feet or more are expected to produce
hazardous wave conditions to small craft. Inexperienced
mariners... especially those operating smaller vessels... should
avoid navigating in these conditions.
