* Flood Warning for...
southwestern Juneau County in central Wisconsin...
Vernon County in southwestern Wisconsin...
Richland County in southwestern Wisconsin...
northeastern Crawford County in southwestern Wisconsin...

* until 300 PM CDT Friday

* at 729 am CDT, flooding continues along many streams and rivers
across the area, with many roads still reported closed due to high
water. Please continue to heed remaining Road closures and always
stay away from flood waters.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Richland Center, Viroqua, Westby, Elroy, Hillsboro, Wonewoc,
Stoddard, Coon Valley, La Farge, Clayton, Germantown, Newton,
Springville, Lone Rock, Rockbridge, Viola, Avoca, Ithaca, Soldiers
Grove and Sylvan.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Kickapoo river at Steuben.
* Until late Wednesday night... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 6:45 am Friday the stage was 11.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this morning and continue to
rise to near 17.0 feet by Saturday morning. The river will fall
below flood stage by Wednesday morning.
* Impact... at 15.0 feet... the town of Steuben experiences significant
flooding.

the Kickapoo river at Gays Mills.
* Until Tuesday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 6:00 am Friday the stage was 13.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 20.0 feet by this
evening. The river will fall below flood stage Monday morning.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... water can be expected in the town of Gays
Mills with depth possibly reaching two feet in places.

* Until Tuesday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 6:47 am Friday the stage was 15.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 20.0 feet by
Saturday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Monday
morning.
* Impact... at 20.0 feet... significant flooding occurs in the older
parts of town.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from noon CDT today
through Saturday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northeast Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and
Wisconsin, including the following areas, in northeast Iowa,
Allamakee, Clayton, Howard, and Winneshiek. In southeast
Minnesota, Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha,
and Winona. In Wisconsin, Adams, Buffalo, Crawford, Grant,
Jackson, Juneau, La Crosse, Monroe, Richland, Trempealeau, and
Vernon.

* From noon CDT today through Saturday morning

* heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Impacts could include flash flooding, additional Road
washouts, rock and mud slides, and river flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
