The Flood Warning continues for
the Portneuf River at Pocatello.
* At 11:16 am Wednesday the stage was 9.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 9.8 feet by
tomorrow morning. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 10.0 feet... significant flooding of agricultural land
will occur from the Inkom and Blackrock area. Lowland flooding will
occur along sections of the river in Pocatello from portnuef gap to
the Cheyenne Avenue bridge and downstream of the Concrete channel
beginning at Sacajawea Park.

... Snow and slushy driving conditions on mountain passes today
into Thursday...

Rain and snow will develop across southeast Idaho today into
Thursday. Snow levels will be around 6000 feet elevation with
slushy snow possible as low as 5000 feet. Accumulation of 3 to 6
inches is expected on mountain passes with locally higher amounts
over the eastern Highlands, particularly the northern Wyoming
border areas. Some snow will melt or turn to slush during the
afternoon hours. The best time for snow to remain on Road surfaces
will be tonight. Difficult driving conditions are expected on
Galena Summit, Banner Summit, Willow Creek Pass, and most of the
passes along the Idaho and Wyoming border. Be prepared for winter
like driving conditions and perhaps avoiding some of the higher
elevation passes if possible.
