The Flood Advisory continues for
the Grand River at Grand Rapids
* until further notice.
* At 09 PM Monday the stage was 12.2 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river will rise to near 14.2 feet by early Monday
morning.
* Impact, at 14.0 feet... expect minor flooding to occur in low lying
areas upstream and downstream of Grand Rapids, especially in the
areas of North Park and Comstock Park.

At 405 am EST, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms over Lake Michigan extending from 25 miles east of
Wind Point to Osceola. Movement was northeast at 40 mph.

Locations to be impacted over the next two hours include...
Grand Rapids... Kalamazoo... Portage...
Muskegon... Holland... Grand Haven...
Albion... Hastings... Marshall...
Allegan... South Haven... Plainwell...
Lowell... Paw Paw... Van Buren sp
Westwood... Wyoming... Kentwood...

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall was occurring with these storms, and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning was also occurring with these
storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek
a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
