The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a
* Flood Watch for
the Cedar River at Cedar Falls... or from the West Fork Cedar
River... to the Cedar Falls-Waterloo city limits.
* Until Tuesday morning.
* At 2:45 PM Friday the stage was 80.0 feet... or 8.0 feet below
flood stage.
* Flood stage is 88.0 feet.
* No flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise to flood stage late Sunday evening. Continue rising
to 89.3 feet... or 1.3 feet above flood stage... Monday afternoon.
Then begin falling and go below flood stage Tuesday morning.
* There is limited confidence in this river forecast. Forecasts may
change so monitor for updated information.

... Flash Flood Watch in effect through Saturday morning...

The National Weather Service in Des Moines has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of central Iowa and
northeast Iowa, including the following areas, in central
Iowa, Grundy and Tama. In northeast Iowa, Black Hawk.

* Through Saturday morning

* additional rainfall inches is expected throughout today into
tonight, which may lead to flash flooding.

* Typically flood-prone locations may flood, creating potentially
hazardous travel conditions and the potential for Road
closures.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
