Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 12:13 PM EDT Sep. 30, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening...

The Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of Southeast Michigan... including the following
areas... Genesee... Lapeer... Livingston... Macomb... Oakland...
Shiawassee... St. Clair... Washtenaw and Wayne.

* Until 8 PM EDT this evening

* a general 2 to 4 inch rainfall occurred from Wednesday night
through Thursday with the highest concentration in the urbanized
area of Wayne... Oakland... and Macomb counties. This rainfall led
to some flooding in the urbanized areas of Metro Detroit. 1 to
2 inches fell elsewhere.

* Rain will persist on and off throughout today. Additional
rainfall amounts around an inch with some localized amounts in
excess of two inches are possible this afternoon and early this
evening. With already saturated soils... this additional rainfall
will make the region susceptible to more flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor forecasts and be alert for possible flood
warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
