... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 10 am EST this
morning...

* locations... portions of northeast Connecticut especially the
higher terrain.

* Hazard types... sleet with pockets of light freezing rain.

* Accumulations... total sleet accumulations of one half to two
inches. A trace of ice accretion is also possible.

* Timing... sleet will change to rain early this morning but
isolated pockets of light freezing rain will be possible through
mid morning across the higher elevations.

* Impacts... untreated roads and walkways will be slippery during
the morning rush hour especially across the higher elevations.

* Winds... northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST this morning...

* location... northern Connecticut... Rhode Island and most of
Massachusetts excluding the northwest sections.

* Timing... strongest winds through 7 am this morning.

* Winds... northeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts between 40 and 55 mph... strongest
wind closer to the coast.

* Impacts... these winds will be capable of Downing a few trees
and may result in isolated power outages. In addition...
localized property damage is possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph are
expected... with gusts between 46 to 57 mph. Winds this strong are
capable of Downing small tree limbs and branches... possibly
causing isolated power outages. Driving can also be difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

... Gale Warning is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Small Craft
Advisory... which is in effect until 6 am EST Wednesday. The Gale
Warning has been cancelled.

* Winds and seas... north winds 20 to 30 kt. Occasional gusts up to
35 kt early this morning. Seas 4 to 8 feet across the Long
Island Sound.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that sustained wind speeds or
frequent gusts of 25 to 33 kt and/or seas of 5 ft or higher are
expected or occurring... and hazardous to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners... especially those operating smaller
vessels... should avoid navigating in these conditions.
