Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 2:02 PM MST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9 PM this evening to
6 PM MST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
from 9 PM this evening to 6 PM MST Tuesday.

* Timing... periods of snow will develop tonight and become more
widespread on Monday. Periods of light snow will continue
through Tuesday evening.

* Total snow accumulations... 8 to 14 inches with locally higher
amounts over west facing slopes. Lesser amounts across east
facing slopes.

* Winds/visibility... west to southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with
gusts up to 45 mph. Visibilities below one half mile in falling
and blowing snow.

* Impacts... mainly to travel and outdoor recreation. Those with
outdoor interests in the high country will experience hazardous
conditions with low visibilities and falling and blowing snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
snow and strong winds will create restricted visibilities and
drifting snow along area roadways. Use caution when traveling...
especially in open areas.
