Issued: 4:19 PM PST Jan. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST Sunday...

* snow accumulations... light snow showers will continue during
the day today with additional accumulations of 2 inches or
less. Very heavy snow is then expected this evening through
Sunday afternoon with 1 to 2 feet of snow to the Mt. Shasta
area and up to 3 feet in mountains above 5000 feet.

* Locations include... Mount Shasta... McCloud... including
Interstate 5 and Highway 89.

* Impacts... high snowfall rates and very heavy snow totals may
create difficult travel conditions including snow packed or
impassable roads and low visibility beginning this evening. The
heavy... wet snow could also snap tree limbs and down power
lines. Snowfall rates between 10 PM PST and 4 am PST could be 2
to 3 inches per hour, at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* if you must travel... keep tire chains... a flashlight...
blankets... food... water... medications... and a fully
charged phone with you.

* The safest place during a winter storm is indoors.

* See weather.Gov/Medford/cams for latest Road conditions.

* A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means that severe winter
weather is imminent and poses a threat to life and property.
