Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 4:09 AM CDT Aug. 24, 2016 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 845 am CDT for north
central Douglas County...

At 403 am CDT... a papio nrd observer confirmed that minor flooding
was occurring on the big Papillion creek from around 120th and fort
streets to near 120th and Maple streets. The gauge on fort street
was reporting a value of 24.6 feet at 3 am... where flood stage is
23.5 feet.

Water levels upstream at Kennard and Bennington continue to slowly
fall. The higher flows should continue to move downstream in Douglas
and Sarpy counties to Ralston and Fort Crook south of Bellevue... but
remain generally within banks from Ralston downstream.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
