... The Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1145 PM CDT for north
central Douglas and central Washington counties...

At 1000 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated that most of the heavy rain
had ended... at least for the short term. Minor flooding will still
be possible... especially in parts of Washington County... around and
west of Kennard to northwest of Kennard... .where up to three inches
of rain fell earlier.

Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Blair... Kennard... Bennington... Herman and Washington.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southwest Iowa and Nebraska... including the
following areas... in southwest Iowa... Fremont... Page and
Pottawattamie. In Nebraska... Cass... Douglas... gage...
Jefferson... Johnson... Nemaha... Otoe... Pawnee... Richardson...
Saline... Sarpy and Washington.

* Through Tuesday afternoon

* heavy rain from 1 to 5 inches fell across parts of the area
Sunday night and an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain fell across
parts of the area this evening. Additional heavy rain with slow
moving thunderstorms are possible in these same areas through
Tuesday.

* Very heavy rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour will be
possible with thunderstorms that form through Tuesday.
Flooding of low lying areas could occur... along with ponding
of water on roadways. Flash flooding may occur along small
streams and creeks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
