... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late Sunday
night...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of east central Kentucky, northeast Kentucky, south
central Kentucky, and southeast Kentucky, including the
following areas, in east central Kentucky, Bath, Elliott,
Estill, Menifee, Montgomery, Powell, and Rowan. In northeast
Kentucky, Johnson and Martin. In south central Kentucky,
Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne, and Whitley. In
southeast Kentucky, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan,
Jackson, Knott, Knox, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Morgan,
Owsley, Perry, Pike, and Wolfe.

* Through late Sunday night

* locally heavy rainfall will be possible as storms track along a
stalled out frontal boundary near eastern Kentucky this
afternoon into this evening. Additional rounds of heavy rainfall
are possible through late Sunday night.

* Heavy rainfall could lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
Additionally, fast rises on area creeks, streams, and some
rivers are possible. Those camping near the water this weekend
need to be prepared to seek higher ground if a Flash Flood
Warning is issued.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

... A strong thunderstorm will affect Bell and southeastern Whitley
counties...

At 735 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Fonde, or 9
miles west of Middlesboro, moving east at 20 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and dime size hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Pineville, Middlesboro, East Pineville, Wallsend, Varilla, Ingram,
Ponza, Straight Creek, Pruden, Cary, Cubage, Binghamtown, Fourmile,
Clear Creek Springs, Wasioto, Meldrum, hutch, Frakes, Noetown and
Davisburg.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Bledsoe, Mary Alice, Chevrolet, Coldiron, barnyard, salt gum,
