... Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect from 4 am to 11 am EST
Tuesday...

* locations... along the southern bays of Long Island... and along
the Atlantic Ocean beaches.

* Tidal departures... 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 ft above astronomical tides
Tuesday morning.

* Timing... flooding threat is over for this evening. Moderate
coastal flooding is expected around the times of astronomical
high tide Tuesday morning. There is a low probability for major
flood thresholds to be reached along the South Shore bays of
Long Island.

* Coastal flood impacts... widespread flooding of vulnerable
Waterfront and shoreline roads and adjacent properties due to
height of storm tide and wave action Tuesday morning.
Inundation of 1 to 2 ft in the lowest lying spots. Low prob of
3 ft of inundation. Numerous Road closures may be needed.
Isolated structural damage may be observed along the immediate
shoreline.

* Beach erosion impacts... elevated water levels and high surf of
9 to 14 ft are expected to cause widespread dune erosion and
localized overwashes along the Atlantic Ocean beachfront into
Tuesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is expected or
occurring. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert
for rising water... and take appropriate action to protect life
and property.

* Timing... the strongest winds are ongoing and will begin to
gradually subside.

* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs... trees... and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Limited
visibilities will make travel very difficult.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph...
or gusts of 46 to 57 mph... are expected or occurring. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.

which is in effect until 6 am EST Tuesday. The Storm Warning has
been cancelled.

* Winds and seas... northeast winds 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt.
Seas 6 to 9 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means sustained winds or frequent gusts of 34 to
47 kt are expected or occurring. Operating a vessel in gale
conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels. It
is highly recommended that mariners without the proper experience
seek safe Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
