The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Burlington.
* Until Sunday morning.
* At 8:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 15.6 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise to 16.5 feet Thursday evening. Fall below flood
stage Sunday morning.
* Impact... at 16.0 feet, water affects low lying buildings and homes
in Montrose and Niota.

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 4 PM this afternoon through
Thursday morning...

The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Illinois, Iowa, and
northeast Missouri, including the following areas, in
Illinois, Bureau, Hancock, Henderson, Henry IL, McDonough,
Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island, Warren, and Whiteside. In Iowa,
Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry IA, Iowa, Jefferson,
Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren, and
Washington. In northeast Missouri, Clark and Scotland.

* From 4 PM this afternoon through Thursday morning

* storms will be capable of high rainfall rates due to high
moisture levels in the atmosphere.

* The area of greatest risk is south of a line from Sigourney,
Iowa to Kewanee, Illinois. Here storms may move over the same
areas and produce 1 to 3 inches of rain in a short time period.

* A second area of concern is north of a Sigourney, Iowa to
Kewanee, Illinois line. Here the ground is very moist from heavy
rain last Friday night. Any high rainfall rates in this area
may result in flash flooding.

A Flash Flood Watch means that flash flooding is possible.
Monitor forecasts and take action if flash flood warnings are
issued or flash flooding develops.
