* Flash Flood Warning for...
northern New Castle County in northern Delaware...
Chester County in southeastern Pennsylvania...
Delaware County in southeastern Pennsylvania...

* until 1100 PM EDT

* at 652 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly in the
areas of heaviest rain.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Wilmington, Newark, West Chester, Chester, Coatesville, Westtown,
Downingtown, Elsmere, Kennett Square, Oxford, Parkesburg, West
Grove, Honey Brook, Newport, Arden, Glen Roy, Stanton, Cheyney,
Talleyville and Elam.

Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the
warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you
think it is. A vehicle can easily become trapped in flood waters
endangering its occupants and those who come to their Rescue.

If you live in a flood prone location be prepared to move to higher
ground.

* until 845 PM EDT

* at 447 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms moving northward from Delaware into extreme
southeastern Pennsylvania. A quick 1 to 2 inches of rain is
possible. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Wilmington, West Chester, Chester, Phoenixville, Yeadon, Westtown,
Folcroft, Swarthmore, Paulsboro, Kennett Square, East Lansdowne,

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 6 PM EDT this evening through
late tonight...

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for the Pennsylvania counties of Carbon,
Monroe, Northampton, Lehigh, Berks, Chester, Montgomery, Bucks,
Delaware and Philadelphia, for the New Jersey counties of
Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Mercer,
Monmouth, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem, for New
Castle County in Delaware, and for Cecil County in Maryland

* from 6 PM EDT this evening through late tonight

* showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain will move through
eastern Pennsylvania, northeastern Maryland, Delaware and New
Jersey during the balance of today and into tonight. Rainfall
amounts up to 2 to 4 inches are possible. The heavy rain will
fall in a short amount of time and it may result in flash
flooding.

* Heavy rain falling in a short period of time will result in
rapidly rising water levels along streams and creeks and in
areas of poor drainage. Significant roadway flooding may occur.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that flash flooding is possible. Flash
flooding is very dangerous.

Please monitor the forecast and be prepared to take action if a
Flash Flood Warning is issued for your location.

downpours will move in from central Pennsylvania and northeastern
Maryland early this evening. Heavy rainfall with this activity
will bring a risk for at least localized flash flooding past
sunset this evening across northern Delmarva and southeastern
Pennsylvania.

Please monitor local media outlets for possible flash flood
warnings from the National Weather Service.
