Issued: 4:23 AM MST Dec. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from 3 PM this afternoon
to 6 PM MST Friday...

* locations include the city of... Vail and Interstate 70 east of
Vail.

* Timing... snow will begin after 3 PM today and will diminish in
intensity by 6 PM Friday. Light snow may continue into Friday
night.

* Snow accumulation... 4 to 7 inches with locally higher amounts.

* Winds... southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* Impacts... expect roads to become icy and snowpacked... especially
over Vail Pass. Strong winds will generate areas of blowing snow
significantly reducing visibility at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and/or
blowing snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
