Issued: 2:24 PM MST Dec. 5, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 6 PM this
evening to 6 am MST Wednesday...

* locations include the cities of... Aspen... Vail... Snowmass.

* Timing... snow will develop late this afternoon and continue
through this evening before tapering off after midnight. A brief
lull will occur through Tuesday morning before snowfall picks up
again late morning through Tuesday night. Blowing snow will
still continue despite the lull in precipitation.

* Snow accumulation... 4 to 8 inches with locally higher amounts
along west facing slopes.

* Winds... west 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Impacts... low visibility in periods of snow and blowing snow
will make travel difficult with hazardous conditions expected
over Vail Pass through Tuesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and/or
blowing snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
