The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of Indiana, northern Kentucky, and Ohio, including
the following areas, in Indiana, Dearborn, Fayette in,
Franklin in, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union in, and Wayne.
In northern Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll,
Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, and Pendleton. In Ohio, Adams,
Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke,
Fairfield, Fayette OH, Franklin OH, Greene, Hamilton,
Highland, Hocking, Madison, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike,
Preble, Ross, Scioto, and Warren.

* Until 4 PM EDT this afternoon.

* Showers and thunderstorms will continue to occur into the
afternoon before finally diminishing. With many areas already
saturated from earlier rainfall, additional rain may cause flash
flooding, especially with any heavier rainfall.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be
prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding
occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued. Avoid low-lying areas,
and be careful when approaching Highway dips and underpasses.

southern Preble County in west central Ohio...
northeastern Butler County in southwestern Ohio...
Clermont County in southwestern Ohio...
Brown County in southwestern Ohio...
Warren County in southwestern Ohio...
Clinton County in southwestern Ohio...
southern Greene County in west central Ohio...
southwestern Highland County in southwestern Ohio...
southern Montgomery County in west central Ohio...

* until 100 PM EDT.

* At 858 am EDT, radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain
approaching the area from the west. Up to 3 inches of rain has
already fallen across the advisory area. Another 1 to 2 inches
will be possible.

* Minor flooding of low-lying and poorly drained streets, highways
and underpasses will occur. In addition, farmland near creeks,
streams and drainage ditches will experience minor flooding.

Some locations that will experience minor flooding include...
Kettering, Middletown, Beavercreek, Mason, Xenia, Miamisburg,
Lebanon, Springboro, Wilmington, Monroe, Loveland, Franklin,
Montgomery, Madeira, Alexandria, Bellbrook, Milford, Moraine,
Carlisle and Georgetown.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
