... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 4 am to 10 PM PST
Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Elko has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for snow and freezing rain which is in effect from 4 am
to 10 PM PST Thursday.

* Snow accumulations... 1 to 3 inches in valleys, 4 to 7 inches
mountains. Highest snow accumulations will be across the Ruby
Mountains.

* Elevation: all valley floors through late Thursday
morning... rising to over 6500 Thursday evening.

* Timing... snow will spread eastward across the area early
Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon then change to a
rain/snow mix in valleys Thursday evening before changing to all
rain in valleys Thursday night.

* Impacts... snow could create difficult travel conditions early
Thursday morning and afternoon. Due to the strong elevation
dependence of this storm, motorists should be alert to rapidly
changing Road conditions if traveling across higher terrain or
mountain passes.
