... Coastal Flood Advisory in effect until 9 PM EST this evening...

The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington DC has
issued a coastal Flood Advisory... which is in effect until 9 PM
EST this evening.

* Location... the southwest Waterfront of Washington DC and the
riverfront of Old Town Alexandria

* tidal departure... around 2 feet above astronomical normal.

* Timing... a few hours on either side of the high tide... which is
4:54 PM at Washington Channel and 5:12 PM at Alexandria.

* Impacts... shoreline inundation is expected along portions of
the seawall adjacent to Ohio drive and the Hains Point loop
Road. Water is expected to approach the curb near the
intersection of King Street and strand street in Alexandria.
Minor shoreline inundation is possible elsewhere.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

* Winds... east winds 25 mph with gusts to 45 mph.

lines. Scattered power outages are expected.
