Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 5:05 AM MST Jan. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 5 PM this
afternoon to 6 am MST Sunday...

* locations include the cities of... Crested Butte... Taylor
Park... Marble.

* Timing... light snow will spread across higher elevations
Thursday afternoon becoming moderate to heavy at times
Thursday evening through sunrise on Friday. A downward trend
in precipitation will occur during the day Friday. The next
system quickly arrives by late Friday afternoon with snow
continuing through Sunday morning.

* Snow accumulation... 10 to 14 inches with locally higher
amounts.

* Winds... southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Impacts... roadways will be slushy to snow packed by Thursday
evening leading to winter driving conditions through the
weekend. Visibilities will be reduced to under a half mile at
times with moderate to heavy snow rates occurring.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
