Watches & Warnings

Dense Fog Advisory, Heat Advisory
Issued: 3:52 AM EDT Jul. 23, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am EDT this morning...
... Heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a dense
fog advisory for southwestern parts of the area... which is in
effect until 9 am EDT this morning.

* Visibility... a quarter mile or less due to fog early this
morning... improving by mid morning.

* Temperature... highs as warm as the low to middle 90s with dew
point tempertures in the middle 70s.

* Impacts... low visibilities from fog will cause problems for
motorists. Heat index values will approach 105 this afternoon
in some areas. This will be the highest in several years in some
places.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned
room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and
neighbors.

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
