... Wind Advisory in effect from 11 am to 10 PM PST Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in San Francisco has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 11 am to 10 PM PST Wednesday.

* Timing... from midday Wednesday through Wednesday evening.

* Winds... southerly wind gusts from 40 to 50 mph... strongest near
the coast and in the coastal hills of Marin and Sonoma.

* Impacts... downed trees, limbs and powerlines will be possible.
Driving of high profile vehicles will be impacted as well.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high

9 am PST Wednesday...
... Gale Warning now in effect from 9 am Wednesday to 4 am PST
Thursday...

The Gale Warning is now in effect from 9 am Wednesday to 4 am PST

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners... especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.

A gale watch is issued when the risk of gale force winds of 34 to
47 knots has significantly increased... but the specific timing
and/or location is still uncertain. It is intended to provide
additional lead time for mariners who may wish to consider
altering their plans.
