Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 8:03 AM MDT Apr. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM
MDT this evening for gusty winds and low relative humidity for
fire weather zone 292...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a red
flag warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is
in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM MDT this evening.

* Affected area... in Colorado, fire weather zone 292 North Fork
forecast area.

* Winds... southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* Relative humidity... 10 to 15 percent.

* Impacts... critical fire weather conditions will develop this
afternoon and evening. Existing or new fires will be difficult
to control.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
