Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 7:53 PM MDT Mar. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The flood advisory remains in effect until 900 PM MDT for east
central Custer and west central Pueblo counties...

At 750 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges continue to
indicated light to moderate rain. This will cause minor flooding in
the junkins and Beulah hills burn scars. Nearby rain gauge reports
indicate around 0.80 inches of rain have fallen just east of the
burn scars, while radar indicates over half an inch over eastern
portions of the burn scar. Minor flooding and debris flows are
possible. Rain rates have been on the decrease, but periods of
light to moderate rain will continue through 9 PM. Snow levels are
also falling with webcams indicating snow levels around 7500 feet.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Beulah and Wetmore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger Rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
