Watches & Warnings

Dense Fog Advisory, Heat Advisory
Issued: 4:30 AM CDT Jul. 23, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory remains in effect until 8 am CDT this
morning...
... Heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM CDT Sunday...

A dense fog advisory continues for most of southwest Indiana and
a small part of the west Kentucky pennyrile region through 8 am
CDT.

A heat advisory remains in effect for all of southwest Indiana
and the pennyrile region of west Kentucky through 8 PM CDT
Sunday.

* Visibilities due to the fog until daybreak will periodically
drop below a mile at times and may rapidly change over a short
distance.

* Impacts due to the fog overnight will be reduced visibility of
the Road ahead. Drivers should use caution in areas of reduced
visibility.

* For the daytime hours... the combination of high temperatures
in the mid 90s will combine with oppressive humidity to
produce heat indices around 105 degrees each day.

* A heat index of 105 degrees or higher is considered the level
at which the body becomes more susceptible to heat exhaustion
and heat stroke.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

For the heat advisory... take extra precautions... if you work or
spend time outside. When possible... reschedule strenuous
activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and
symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light weight
and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of
water.
