Issued: 2:14 PM MST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 6 PM this
evening to 5 am MST Tuesday...

* location... Central Lake County... the Sawatch Range between
9000 and 11000 feet... Saguache County west of the Continental
Divide... and the upper Rio Grande Valley.

* Cause and timing... a storm system will bring periods of
moderate to heavy snow beginning tonight and continuing
through early Tuesday morning.

* Snow accumulation... 4 to 10 inches.

* Wind... west to southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts to around 55
mph across the exposed areas... decreasing to west 15 to 30 mph
Monday night into Tuesday.

* Impact... roads will become slick and snowpacked late tonight
into Tuesday morning... with poor visibilities in blowing snow
across the exposed areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
