A tropical disturbance pushing toward the Bahamas, is expected to develop into a tropical depression or storm, and will likely target Florida and the Gulf Coast this weekend into next week.

Right now, the disturbance remains a broad area of low pressure pushing through the Dominican Republic and Haiti, headed toward the southeast Bahamas. Rainfall totals over 3 inches (with locally higher amounts) are expected in HispaƱiola, particularly over elevated terrain.

At 923 PM CDT... Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Stockton to near
Greenfield... and moving east at 25 mph.

Nickel size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
these storms.
