Special Statement
Issued: 2:25 PM CST Feb. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Isolated patches of dense fog possible overnight...

As precipitation and cloud cover slowly drift east this evening
and overnight, areas of fog will develop and spread across the
quad state region.

Depending on the degree of clearing, combined with a near calm
wind, a few locations may see the development of dense fog
overnight and into early Wednesday morning.

At this time, the highest probability of seeing isolated patches
of dense fog would be across southeast Missouri, southern
Illinois, and part of The Purchase area of west Kentucky. The time
period of greatest concern for dense fog development would be
from 1 am CST to 9 am CST.

If you must travel across the quad state region overnight, be
watchful for quick changes in the visibility of the Road ahead.
Allow sufficient time to reach your destination and be sure to
signal when you are changing lanes or turning onto or off
roadways.

Cloud cover, wind, and temperatures will be monitored this evening
for the development of fog. If conditions worsen, a dense fog
advisory may be required for part of the quad state region
overnight.

Any fog that develops overnight should dissipate by 9 am CST
Wednesday.
