Special Statement
Issued: 5:18 AM CST Jan. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Heavy rainfall possible through this evening and again this
weekend...

Another round of rainfall today and into tonight may cause mainly
minor flooding problems over western Kentucky and adjacent areas.
Rainfall of 1 to more than 1 and 1/2 inches is forecast across
western Kentucky today and tonight with slightly lesser values
along the Ohio River and over southwest Indiana. Similar amounts
of rainfall are expected again this weekend.

Recent rainfall saturated the ground and with little time to recover
any additional moderate to heavy rainfall could cause ponding of
water in low lying areas, including some flood prone roads. The
additional rainfall may also lead to significant rises on already
swollen creeks and rivers across the region.

Monitor the latest forecasts and information from the National Weather
Service for any updates regarding heavy rain and flooding potential.
Should you encounter a flooded Road, remember, turn around, don't
drown!
