... A Flood Warning for snowmelt remains in effect until 200 PM PDT
Monday for northeastern Kings... northwestern Tulare and central
Fresno counties...

At 554 am PDT, emergency management reported a levee breach along
the Kings River resulting in flooding of the adjacent Kings River
Golf and Country Club Golf course in Tulare County. The water was
within 200 feet of homes and evacuations are underway. High water
releases from Pine Flat dam are expected to continue through the
weekend, as Pine Flat Lake is near its storage capacity due to
ongoing snow melt. Dangerously high water flows along the Kings
River will continue to threaten communities downstream of Pine Flat
dam. Locations impacted include, but are not limited to: Minkler,
Reedley, Kingsburg, and Grangeville.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

Issued: 2:45 PM PDT Jun. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 9 PM PDT Sunday...

* temperatures... 100 to 106 degrees.

* Timing... through Sunday evening.

* Impacts... prolonged exposure to these temperatures will
increase the risk of heat related illnesses such as heat
exhaustion and heat stroke. Children, the elderly, and people
with chronic respiratory ailments are the most susceptible to
heat related illness. Pets, crops, and livestock may also
require extra care through the hot weather.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside.
Shelter yourself from the hot sun if possible and schedule
strenuous physical work outside to the early morning or evening
hours. Wear light colored, loose fitting clothing if possible.
Remain hydrated and drink plenty of water. Know the signs and
symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. Look before you lock! The
temperature inside of a car on a hot day can climb to lethal
levels in a matter of minutes.

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned
room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and
