Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 10:03 PM EDT Apr. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 115 am EDT for Alamance...
Forsyth... Davidson... Orange... Harnett... Randolph... Guilford... Lee and
Chatham counties...

At 956 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated an area of moderate to
locally heavy rain moving east-to-west across the western Piedmont.
This region has received three to five inches since last night.
Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches is probable through
1 am EDT.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Do not underestimate the power of flood waters. Only a few inches of
rapidly flowing water can quickly carry away your vehicle.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
