... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM MDT this evening...

* location... middle and lower Rio Grande Valley including the
Albuquerque Metro area, as well as the upper Tularosa basin
and south Central Highlands.

* Winds... west winds of 15 to 25 mph with occasional gusts of 35
mph increasing to 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph late this
morning.

* Timing... breezy to windy conditions will continue through late
morning with stronger winds expected from late morning through
dusk.

* Visibility... dropping to 3 to 5 miles at times in dust prone
locations.

* Local impacts... unsecured objects may become airborne. Cross
winds will pose difficult driving conditions, especially for
high profile vehicles.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Motorists should exercise caution while travelling. Sudden gusts
of wind may cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Extra
attention should be given to cross winds.

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM MDT
this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Area and timing... middle Rio Grande Valley this afternoon and
early evening.

* 20 foot winds... northwest at 20 to 30 mph with occasional
gusts to 45 mph.

* Relative humidity... 12 to 15 percent.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this red flag warning.
