Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 3:46 PM MDT Jul. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for...
Yavapai County in west central Arizona...

* until 645 PM MST

* at 345 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Hassayampa
river... Woolsey wash... Miller Creek... Little Chino Valley... Finch
wash... Copper Basin wash... mint wash... Butte Creek... Willow Creek...
Bannon creek... Granite creek... Strickland wash... Logan wash... Iron
Springs wash... Lynx creek... bottleneck wash... Cooper wash... Dillon
wash... Agua Fria river... Spence creek and Skull Valley wash.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually deeper
than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough
to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded roads, make
the smart choice: turn around, don't drown.
