... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Sunday afternoon through
Sunday evening...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for Los Angeles County

* from Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening

* periods of intense rain with rainfall rates as high as 1 to 1.5
inches per hour could generate flash flooding and or mud and
debris flows... especially in and around recent burn scars.

* Landslides and Rockslides are very common during intense rain
events and could lead to Road closures.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Flash flooding and debris flows will be a particular threat in
and below the recently burned areas.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

Southern California residents, in or below the recently burned
areas are urged to take the steps necessary to protect their
property. Persons in the watch area should remain alert and
follow directions of emergency preparedness officials.

40 mph with gusts to 60 mph are expected.

* Impacts... gusty winds will make driving difficult...
especially for drivers of high profile vehicles. Major
roadways that could be affected include highways 14 and 138.
Since the soils are wet... there is a heightened potential for
downed trees and power lines.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

When driving... use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.

A High Wind Warning means that damaging high winds of 58 mph or
greater are likely or imminent. Secure all loose outdoor
furniture in advance of the onset of strong winds. Monitor the
latest forecasts on NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite media
source.

Small Craft Advisory, Gale Warning

... Gale Warning in effect from 6 am to 2 PM PST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Gale Warning... which is in effect from 6 am to 2 PM PST Sunday.

* Winds... south winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts to 40 kt are
expected when winds are strongest.

* Seas... combined seas of 9 to 12 feet with periods around 17
seconds are expected when waves are largest.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occuring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

A Small Craft Advisory means that hazardous sea conditions will
exist for small craft. Inexperienced mariners... especially those
operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these
conditions.
