Issued: 3:49 AM CDT Jul. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 9 am CDT this morning
through this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Alabama and southern middle Tennessee, including the
following areas, in Alabama, Colbert, Cullman, De Kalb,
Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison,
Marshall, and Morgan. In Tennessee, Franklin, Lincoln, and
Moore.

* From 9 am CDT this morning through this evening

* showers and thunderstorms will affect the region today,
producing generally 1 to 2 inches of rainfall. Localized
amounts over 3 inches are possible where rainfall persists
longer, or where showers and storms repeatedly track over the
same areas. Flash flooding is possible in these areas with the
heaviest rainfall.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
