Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 10:01 AM PST Dec. 17, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 8 PM PST this evening
for gusty northeast winds and low relative humidity for the
Ventura coast and Los Angeles coast from Malibu to Hollywood
Hills...

* winds... north to northeast winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts 40 to
50 mph today will diminish to 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph
by this evening. Strongest winds across the Ventura County
coastal plain and Malibu to Hollywood Hills.

* Relative humidity... humidities will lower to 10 to 15 percent.

* Impacts... if fire ignition occurs, there will be the potential
for very rapid spread of wildfire, long range spotting, and
extreme fire behavior that could lead to a threat to life and
property. Use extreme caution with potential fire ignition
sources.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are occurring. A combination of strong winds... low relative
humidity... and very dry fuels can contribute to extreme fire
behavior. Use extreme caution when using potential fire ignition
sources.
