... Winter Storm Watch in effect from late Thursday night through
late Friday night...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory... which is in effect from 10 PM Wednesday to
4 am PST Friday. A Winter Storm Watch has also been issued. This
Winter Storm Watch is in effect from late Thursday night through
late Friday night.

* Snow levels... mostly between 5000 and 5500 feet, but locally
lower on the north slopes.

* Timing... moderate snow will occur late Wednesday night and
Thursday with heavy snow Friday and Friday night.

* Snow accumulations... 4 to 8 inches above 6000 feet late
Wednesday night and Thursday with 8 to 16 inches Friday and
Friday night. A few inches could fall as low as around 5000
feet.

* Winds... southwest to west winds 20 to 35 mph with local gusts
over 50 mph Thursday and 25 to 45 mph Friday with local gusts
over 65 mph.

* Visibility... near zero at times in snow, blowing snow and fog.

* Impacts... travel will be dangerous at times over the mountains
due to snowfall and low visibility.

* Outlook... some snow showers will continue Saturday night and
Sunday, with a warmer storm likely bringing more rain than snow
by Monday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow will cause
travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited
visibilities... and use caution while driving.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
