... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 11 am this morning to 10 PM
EDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay area - Ruskin FL has
issued a lake Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 11 am this
morning to 10 PM EDT this evening.

* Timing... 11 am EDT through 10 PM EDT today.

* Winds... 20 to 25 mph with higher gusts.

* Impacts... strong and gusty winds will create choppy and
difficult boating conditions on area lakes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

... A line of strong thunderstorms will affect Highlands... Hardee...
eastern Manatee... Charlotte... southern Polk... DeSoto... northwestern
Lee and Sarasota counties...

At 349 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from 9 miles northwest of Avon Park to near
North Port. Movement was southeast at 30 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Port, Punta Gorda, Sebring, Avon Park,
Arcadia, Wauchula, Lake Placid, Port Charlotte, Lake Istokpoga,
palmona park, lochmoor Waterway Estates, Babcock Webb wma, Babcock
ranch, Ona, Sylvan Shores, east Dunbar, Sebring Regional Airport and
southeast Arcadia.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may
cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
