... Wind Advisory now in effect until 7 PM EST this evening...

* timing... through this evening.

* Winds... sustained west winds of 20 to 25 mph with frequent
gusts to around 35 mph.

* Impacts... strong and gusty winds can blow lightweight objects
around, make driving conditions difficult, and also make
boating conditions hazardous on the Intracoastal Waterway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

... Significant weather advisory for frequent to excessive lightning,
small hail, up to 55 mph winds and the development of funnel clouds
for southeastern Mainland Monroe... Miami-Dade and southeastern
Broward counties until 445 am EST...

* at 359 am EST... Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms with rotation, capable of producing a funnel cloud
along a line extending from North Miami Beach to 10 miles
southeast of Mahogany Hammock... and moving east at 45 mph.

* In addition, frequent to excessive lightning, gusty winds up to 55
mph, small hail, torrential downpours, or a combination of these
are possible. Lightning is the number one weather related killer
in Florida. Trees and open shelters offer no protection.
These winds can down small tree limbs and branches, and blow around
unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe building until the
storm passes.

* Locations impacted include...
Miami, Hialeah, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood,
Miramar, Miami Beach, Homestead, Coral Gables, Key Biscayne, South
Miami, Surfside, Homestead general Airport, Miami Gardens, Turkey
Point, Virginia Key, Hallandale, Homestead Miami Speedway, Black
Point and the Redland.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This activity was also developing in an environment favorable for the
formation of funnel clouds. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio and
