... Heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM PDT this evening...

* temperatures for San Diego County coastal areas... highs in the upper
80s near the coast to around 100 near The Mesas.

* Temperatures for inland Orange County and the inland
Empire... highs ranging from 100 to 105 for inland Orange County and
the western inland Empire to around 100 in far eastern sections
of the inland Empire.

* Temperatures for the Santa Ana Mountains... highs in the 90s.

* Impacts... overexposure to heat could lead to heat illness
especially for people at risk... including the elderly and
children. Pets are also at risk.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 3 PM PDT this
afternoon for strong gusty winds and low humidities...

* winds... areas of northeast to east winds 15 to 25 mph with
gusts to 40 mph... with gusts to 50 mph below the Banning pass.

* Relative humidities... lowest of 6 to 10 percent.

* Outlook... increasing humidities... decreasing winds... and cooling
for Tuesday into Wednesday.

* Impacts... any fires that start may exhibit extreme fire
behavior and spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not
recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and heat will contribute
to extreme fire behavior.
