The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Southern California... southwest California and
southwests California... including the following areas... in
Southern California... San Bernardino and Riverside County
valleys-the inland Empire. In southwest California... Orange
County coastal areas... Orange County inland areas... San
Bernardino County mountains... San Diego County coastal areas...
   San Diego County mountains... San Diego County valleys... San
Gorgonio Pass near Banning and Santa Ana Mountains and
foothills. In southwests California... Riverside County
mountains.

* Through this evening

* heavy showers and scattered thunderstorms will likely occur late
this morning through early evening... with possible rainfall
rates at or exceeding 1 inch per hour. This will increase the
chances for flash flooding. Also... heavy rains over recent burn
scars could result in debris flows and mudslides.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action

... High surf warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST Tuesday...

* surf... surf 8 to 12 ft with sets to 16 feet through Saturday.
Surf subsiding Sunday to 4 to 8 ft... then increasing again
Monday to 8 to 12 ft. Surf will slowly diminish Tuesday.

* Tides... highest tide will be 4.6 ft at 435 am Saturday.

* Impacts... coastal flooding and beach erosion. Damage to
coastal structures such as piers. Strong rip currents and
dangerous swimming conditions. Large waves can wash people off
jetties and rocks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf warning indicates that dangerous... battering wave
will pound the shoreline. This will result in very dangerous
swimming conditions... and deadly rip currents.





High Wind Warning
Issued: 4:38 AM PST Jan. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 10 PM PST this
evening...

* winds... west to southwest 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 45 mph
and local gusts to 60 mph.

* Timing... today through the evening.

* Location... Orange County... San Diego County coast and
valleys... the inland Empire... and the Santa Ana Mountains and
foothills.

* Impacts... strong winds could topple trees and power lines and
make for hazardous driving conditions for high profile
vehicles. Tree limbs and other debris may fall onto roadways.
Structural damage possible.

* Outlook... winds will weaken tonight but still be
blustery... especially at the immediate coast. Winds may become
strong again late Sunday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.





Small Craft Advisory, Gale Warning

morning...
... Gale Warning remains in effect from 10 am this morning to 9 PM
PST this evening...

* winds... southwest winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts to 35 kt are
expected when winds are strongest.

* Seas... combined seas of 12 to 16 feet with periods around 15
seconds are expected when waves are largest.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occuring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.

A Small Craft Advisory means that hazardous sea conditions will
exist for small craft. Inexperienced mariners... especially those
operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these
conditions.
