Beach Hazard Statement
Issued: 9:32 PM PDT Aug. 18, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Beach hazards statement remains in effect from Saturday
afternoon through Sunday evening...

* large high tides... minor tidal overflows and beach erosion
will be possible due to a large high tide forecast around 7
feet Saturday and Sunday evenings, between 8 and 9 PM.

* Impacts... minor tidal overflows and beach erosion could bring
standing water to beach and Harbor areas, including parking
lots and adjacent access roads that normally do not experience
overflows during high tide.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A beach hazards statement is issued when threats such as strong
rip currents... elevated surf heights... minor tidal overflow... or
lightning are possible at local beaches. Obey posted warning
signs and flags and talk to a lifeguard before swimming. Use
caution when in or near the water and always swim near a
lifeguard.
