... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southwest Alabama and northwest Florida, including
the following areas, in southwest Alabama, Baldwin central,
Baldwin coastal, Baldwin inland, Mobile central, Mobile
coastal, and Mobile inland. In northwest Florida, Escambia
coastal, Escambia inland, Okaloosa coastal, Okaloosa inland,
Santa Rosa coastal, and Santa Rosa inland.

* Through late tonight

* numerous showers and thunderstorms are still expected through
early this evening along the coastal counties of Alabama and
northwest Florida, especially close to Interstate 10. These
storms have the potential of producing 1 to 3 inches of rain in
a short time, which may lead to localized flash flooding,
particularly in urban areas.

* Urban, low lying, and poor drainage areas will be the most
susceptible to flash flooding. Road closures are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

... High rip current risk remains in effect through Wednesday
evening...

* surf... 3 to 5 feet.

* Timing... now through Wednesday.

* Impacts... frequent life-threatening rip currents are expected.
The surf is dangerous for all levels of swimmers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents. Rip currents are life-
threatening to anyone entering the surf. Swim near a lifeguard.
If caught in a rip current remain calm. Don't fight the current.
Swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape,
face the shore and call or wave for help. If tired, float or
tread water until out of the rip current.
