... High Wind Warning in effect from 11 am Thursday to 6 am MST
Friday...

The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect from 11 am Thursday to 6 am MST
Friday. The Wind Advisory is no longer in effect.

* Timing... winds will increase around 11 am Thursday with strong
winds continuing through 6 am Friday.

* Winds... winds will have sustained speeds of 35 to 40 with gusts
up to 60 mph... especially along the eastern facing slopes.


* Impacts... blowing dust could make difficult and even dangerous
driving conditions. Strong cross winds could making vehicle
handling difficult.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.






Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 1:42 PM MST Feb. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect from 11 am to 8 PM MST
Thursday for low relative humidities and strong winds...

* 20-foot wind... 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph.

* Humidity... 8 to 15 percent.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
