The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for...
Columbia County in east central Georgia...
McDuffie County in east central Georgia...
Richmond County in east central Georgia...
Southern Edgefield County in central South Carolina...
western Aiken County in central South Carolina...

* until 400 PM EDT

* at 158 PM EDT, Doppler radar a band of thunderstorms producing
heavy rain. Over one inch of rain fell at Thomson in only 20
minutes. Total rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches will be possible.
This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory
area. Motorists should use caution along and near the Interstate
20 corridor, and throughout metropolitan Augusta and surrounding
areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Aiken, North Augusta, Grovetown, Evans, Thomson, Augusta, Martinez,
Clearwater, Fort Gordon, Belvedere, Hephzibah, Harlem, New
Ellenton, Jackson, Gloverville, Burnettown, Blythe, Dearing,
Windsor and Murphys estates.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
