Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 10:41 AM CDT May. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Alabama and northwest Florida, including the
following areas, in Alabama, Baldwin central, Baldwin coastal,
Baldwin inland, Covington, Escambia, Mobile central, Mobile
coastal, and Mobile inland. In northwest Florida, Escambia
coastal, Escambia inland, Okaloosa coastal, Okaloosa inland,
Santa Rosa coastal, and Santa Rosa inland.

* Through late tonight

* numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue into this
afternoon across areas south and east of the Interstate 65
corridor. Another round of storms is likely after midnight
tonight. These storms have the potential of producing 1 to 3
inches of rain in a short time, which may lead to localized
flash flooding, particularly in urban areas. Localized higher
totals are possible along and south of Interstate 10.

* Urban, low lying, and poor drainage areas will be the most
susceptible to flash flooding. Road closures are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
